So... this post is a little different from the rest but here I go!
About a week ago I noticed a few red dots across my stomach; it was super weird but I ignored it. Then, more and more popped up and spread to my back, neck, and arms! At this point I am freaking out thinking I have a skin disease that has laid dormant until now.
Luckily, that was not the case... BUT I did end up getting a fever and throwing up after about 6 days had gone by. It turned out this mystery rash I had was actually just a virus I had picked up showing itself before any symptoms appeared!
It was not fun, but I was only sick for a day and my rash has already began disappearing. I never would have thought about posting about rashes or how to treat them, but here I am.
If your rash is itchy, the most important thing is to NOT ITCH. If you do, you may develop blisters or scabs. Instead, try applying a cream to sooth it. Hydrocortisone, Benadryl cream, and aloe vera are wonderful for calming irritated skin and reducing redness! If your skin is super dry, I would try CeraVe Healing Ointment. It comes in a big blue tub and is similar to vaseline, but better in my opinion! Apply lightly to the affected area and rub it in. Of course if the rash continues you need to see a doctor to determine what is causing it. They will be able to prescribe stronger topicals to treat the rash.
Try not to freak out if a mystery rash pops up; it may be your sign that you have a virus!
